"Conceived as a monolithic, cinematic box where architecture frames, exhibits, and celebrates the automobile as a design piece within a sophisticated and timeless atmosphere..."
BLACK BOX is conceived as a customizable car agency where architecture becomes stage, workshop, and gallery at once. The project begins with a clear intention, to transform the automotive experience into a contemporary, sophisticated, sensory ritual. A large horizontal canopy extends as an urban threshold, floating above dark, precise planes that build an iconic, almost cinematic presence. The building reads as a monolithic object, a “box” of shadow and sheen that frames light and directs attention to the true protagonist, the vehicle. Materiality reinforces the character, exposed concrete and deep black textured surfaces bring weight and permanence, while slatted wood introduces warmth and rhythm, creating a controlled contrast. Large-format glazing dissolves the boundary between outside and inside, allowing cars to be displayed as collectible pieces, visible from the street and lit like sculptures. Linear lighting integrated into ceilings and walls traces sharp geometries, guiding movement and crafting a high-impact night atmosphere. Inside, the layout is organized as a flexible open volume, a social lounge where conversation, negotiation, and waiting blend seamlessly with the exhibition. Offices and technical areas are filtered through transparency, revealing the customization process without losing a sense of exclusivity. BLACK BOX is not simply a showroom, it is a built identity, a place where design, engineering, and desire meet under an aesthetic that is restrained, powerful, and timeless.
